The Town Beach, the Northern Beach

The Town Beach is the Northern Beach in Sozopol, located just South of Old Sozopol. Sozopol's second beach is the Harmanite Beach further South.

The North Beach is right next to Old Sozopol

The beaches in Sozopol are a major reason why especially Bulgarians flock to the town every summer on their vacation.

The North Beach seen from Old Sozopol

The Town Beach is very aptly named, as it is next to both Old Sozopol and New Sozopol or Harmanite.

Most of the Northth Beach seen from the Northernmost end, next to Old Sozopol

You may want to stay clear of the Northernmost end of the Town Beach, as it is covered with rocks rather than sand. However, it is closer to the many little cafes and restaurants in Old Sozopol.

The water drops slowly, making the North Beach children friendly

The water stays low relatively far into the bay, making the beach child friendly. Its location in a bay keeps larger waves from hitting the beach, keeping it reasonably calm, but not so calm that it is boring.

There are typically many people in the water all the time - it is warm and protected in a cove

When you come to Sozopol in August, when all Bulgarians have their Summer Holiday, the beach is packed with happy people. This is a lively time in Sozopol.
